DIY gift ideas: Homemade Hand Scrub

Today, I'm taking a break from my typical recipe post to bring you a different kind of recipe. A recipe for a DIY gift idea: Homemade hand scrub!

This is by no means an original idea. I've seen this all over Pinterest, and I've even received a few jars of this from students as a gift. We are actually now making a few jars of this not only for ourselves, but for teachers and some of the women in our family.

First, you will need a small container. We have found that small Mason jars work the best.

Next, fill your jars 2/3 of the way full of Sugar in the Raw. You can find this at any grocery store.

Then, fill the jar 1/3 full of Dawn Hand Renewal Dish Soap. Stir well.

You want the consistency at this point to be wet but not runny. You may have to add in more sugar/hand soap until the consistency looks like a thick cream.

This is super cheap and easy to make, and it smells soooo wonderful!! It also makes your hands feel so good.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe! Now, I'm going to go make some more hand soap. As you can see, I've still got some jars to fill :)

A quick and easy DIY: dresser tray

I am a bit obsessed with trays. I have a silver serving tray in our bathroom to corral our glass canisters. I also have a wooden tray in our kitchen with a grain sack print, an apothecary jar and some spring decor.

A Christmas-related DIY

I love apothecary jars. I have been wanting to buy three of them for quite some time, but I can never seem to find them on sale for a good price. And that's a problem, when I want to buy three or more of them.

It all started with a trip to the Dollar Tree this week. I already had a tall vase similar to this one:

Falling for fall

I really love fall. It's my absolute favorite time of year. Since school has started back, I'm struggling to fall back into my routine, so I'm embarrassed to admit my normally well-kept home has been a bit neglected. I'm working on  it. So, today on this rainy Saturday, this girl is not only doing some much needed cleaning, but also getting my fall on. I will be posting my home tour very soon.

Most of my fall decor has stemmed from magazine spreads and of course, Pinterest. I'll share some of my favorite links, since I am still prepping my house.

A Little DIY: Dog biscuit canister

School has started back, and this blogger has been unintentionally AWOL. I didn't set out to take two weeks off from blogging, but I am struggling to find a balance and I needed to focus on school work. I have a list of great blog entries that I am planning to write, but just haven't found the time.

I did find time for a cute DIY project which cost me nothing and was a lot of fun. I have had this white crock on hand for years, and just couldn't find a use for it.
