Thursday- Fall house maintenance

Each year, there are things we do around the house. Some of these maintenance items are completed once yearly, some twice yearly, and some every two years. Some are just done on an as-needed basis. Either way, there are things we try to make sure we budget for and get done to keep our house in tip-top shape. Each year, we go through our binder and write what month we want to do these things. That helps us know when to budget for them too.

Here is a list I created and slipped into our home management binder to help us keep track of these things each year:

Twice yearly maintenance:
*pressure wash fencing
*pressure wash house
*clean porch furniture
*clean out closets (done in conjunction with seasons changing)

Once yearly maintenance:
*New pine straw
*Prune shrubs
*Separate bulbed plants
*Clean porches
*clean out flower beds, raised beds, and container gardens

Every other year maintenance:
*paint porch railing
*paint shutters
*paint front door

I currently have this on notebook paper in our binder. I am working on a checklist document that I'll share with you all as soon as I'm done with it.
