My recent trip to Ikea

Two weekends ago, my family went to Ikea and Concord Mills for a shopping trip. Because Ikea is about a three hour drive for us, we don't go often. We try to keep a list of things we might want to buy when we do go again. There were many things I wanted, but I'm watching our spending, so I only made a few purchases.

Here are some things I bought:

Remember my decorating conundrum in the guest bath? I couldn't figure out what I wanted to put on this shelf with the mason jars. This pretty little tea light holder is working out nicely.

I also picked up some cute galvanized buckets and faux boxwood to create a no-fuss centerpiece for our new table.

I also got these really cute pitchers to put my kitchen utensils in. They look so cute in our kitchen!

I am really enjoying all of these neat things we got- I am in the process of picking out some other things I want to buy in the future.  Thanks for reading!

Farmhouse style at Ikea!

Yesterday, my parents, daughter and I decided since I go back to work on Friday (a.k.a today), we should have one last fun day. We decided to make the 2 1/2 hour trip to the Charlotte area for a little Ikea shopping and some outlet shopping at Concord Mills. My beautiful girl needed a few winter clothes and my sweet baby girl did, too.

As you well know, I love old farmhouses, but lacking the funds to buy one and renovate it, we chose to buy a new home and decorate it like a farmhouse. Ikea had some great finds that can definitely fit into the "farmhouse style" category.
